If cultural immersion is something you desire then  you join us as we interact, play  and learn more about this group of people .Perhaps their challenges and outlook to life could be something that gives you cause to have long term engagement with them.

The Batwa are a forested community  found in Sothern eastern Uganda other border with Congo and Rwanda. They are largely a very conservative community  in their way of life although they have been recent attempts to  bring them to modern ways of life this hasn’t bore much fruit and as result there is  :

  • Very low literacy levels
  • Teenage pregnancy’s is high
  • High levels of alcohol intake.
  • High levels of domestic gender based violence.

The first time I visited the this group I was initially apprehensive not knowing exactly what to accept but at the end of the visit i had enjoyed myself very much but  i also learnt few things that  about these people that that never get  to be mentioned by main stream media .These are people are awesome, hospitable and resilient in life. The trip was an eye opener to look at life   differently and appreciate diversity in humanity. This is what cultural immersion is all about.
